UTeM Edu-Tourism

Edu-Tourism is one of the aspirations of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture of Malaysia (MOTAC) to make UTeM the first edu-tourism center in the state of Melaka and the unique tourism icon in parallel with the historical city of Malacca, as well as a new attraction for the Melaka Visit Year 2019.

The "U" in the UTourism logo used for the UTeM Edu-Tourism is selected to represent the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka. Research at UTeM has successfully produced a variety of products that bring university name internationally and recognized. Besides research, UTeM also has facilities in the Sports Center and Development Office in conducting sports and outdoor activities. In the development of teaching and learning, UTeM also actively conducts training programs and seminars to the outside community, and these activities need to be streamlined.

The success of research and commercialization of the electric beca (e-beca) in the states of Melaka and Terengganu has opened the eyes of tourists under the Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) to assist UTeM in pursuing education-based tourism in Melaka. Additional information of e-beca can be found at

Tourism has been identified as one of the effective mechanisms to promote rapid economic growth in a country. Tourism will provide employment opportunities to locals and indirectly the natural resources can be used, especially in the State of Melaka which is the state of tourism.
